Eleanor Eagle was born in Wisconsin, grew up in Chicago, and has called Brooklyn her home for the past fifteen years. She started Heartbreaker Baker when she lost her father and turned to baking cookies to soften the heartbreak. Since she wasn’t going to eat all of them herself, she soon became popular with her friends and co-workers when she showed up everywhere with dozens of batches of cookies with names inspired by them and by the occasion. The names stuck – and so did the recipes – and now she’s happy to say that, whether as therapy or to celebrate the moments in life that matter most, her cookies are always baked with love. She is currently working on a book about the practical use of some philosophies espoused in The Godfather by Mario Puzo.
